David Blackwood founded Blackwood Real Estate, Inc. in 1989 as a full-service commercial real estate brokerage company. The firm is engaged in the sale of residential and commercial land, the sale and leasing of commercial properties, and consulting for both residential and commercial developments.
Since its founding, Mr. Blackwood has sold more than 8,000 acres of land and over 12,000 residential building lots. In addition to commercial sales and leasing, he has served as the principal consultant on the development of 16 residential communities. His clients include Atlantic Builders, Virginia Properties, The Hylton Group, Truist Bank, Bank of America, Beazer Homes Corporation, Wells Fargo Bank, and PNC Bank.
Before launching Blackwood Real Estate, Inc., Mr. Blackwood was the Senior Vice President for The Fried Companies, Inc., a residential and commercial development firm based in Springfield. During his tenure, the company acquired land for 4,000 residential building lots as well as commercial property for development. Prior to that, he opened and managed the Washington-area offices for The Myers Group, Inc., where he oversaw land acquisitions for investment syndication. Before relocating to Fairfax, Virginia in early 1985, Mr. Blackwood worked in the land brokerage business in Dallas, Texas.

Nancy Curtas joined Blackwood Management, Inc. in 2006 as a full-time Association Manager, bringing with her much experience. A well-seasoned Association Manager who specializes in residential association management, Mrs. Curtas has been vital in streamlining procedures, allowing Blackwood Management to take on larger associations. A member of the Community Association Institute, Mrs. Curtas has met the state examination standards through continuing education, maintaining her professional designation as a Certified Manager of Community Association (CMCA) and the Association Management Specialist (AMS).
Mrs. Curtas has experience in all aspects of association management. Since joining Blackwood, Nancy successfully manages a residential portfolio of all types of residential developments; including townhomes, condominiums, and single-family communities.

Lacey Blackwood joined Blackwood Management, Inc. and Blackwood Real Estate, Inc. in 2005, bringing with her a cheerful and supportive spirit. Lacey is quick to find solutions and plays a key role in resolving any issues that arise within the company. Her dedication, adaptability, and warmth have made her a central figure in the day-to-day operations of both organizations.

Ace Laserna joined Blackwood Management, Inc. in 2019 as a Community Inspector. Later in the year, he was promoted to Commercial and Residential Property Manager. Mr. Laserna has experience in all aspects of management. He currently manages a portfolio of commercial and residential properties, including condominiums and single-family communities.

Gigi joined Blackwood Management, Inc. in June 2024 as a full-time Administrative Assistant. She is a dedicated assistant with over 20 years of experience, proficient in managing complex calendars, coordinating logistics, and providing seamless support, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Gigi is highly skilled and committed to enhancing organizational efficiency. Her meticulous attention to detail, positive attitude, and proficiency in office management have been evident throughout her career.
In her free time, Gigi enjoys nature, likes to craft, and cherishes sharing time and food with her family, friends, and her faithful feline companion, RayRay.

Jessica Hayes joined Blackwood Management as a part-time Executive Assistant in February 2025. Jessica is rejoining the workforce after spending thirteen years as a stay-at-home mom raising her three children. Prior to that, she worked as a Program Manager for a remote technical services company and as a Merchandise Buyer for a large consumer electronics retailer.
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
